Property is located in a very rural area. As you can see the cleaning fee is already a bit high. It is really hard to get schedules from the cleaner. But we always keep our place clean.
1. Garbage: There is no garbage pick up services around that area. Please take away your own garbage.
2. Using Boats: All small boats are there for you to use, after use please put them back in its original place up side down - where it was kept except the Fishing Boat. Specially the fishing boat need to be covered so that no water can go inside. If you wish to use the Trolling Motor Fishing boat, you are most welcome but make sure you have a boating license (do not go over 3rd gear). The battery is kept in charge by the front entrance of main cottage. Before you take it, please disconnect the main power then safely disconnect the clips. Trolling motor battery needs charge Very Frequently. Please put the battery in charge after use and keep it in its original place and state. Please move the batter with the cover and box. Do not take out the battery from the box. The pontoon is not included.
3. Boating and Fishing Equipments: Extra life jackets, paddles and fishing rods are kept inside the Grey Shed. You are always most welcome to use them. Please make sure all life jackets, and any other safety parts for paddles are stored inside the red shed.
4. Cleanliness: Please be respectful to the nature, do not throw any garbage or item in the water or outside.
5. Overnight Garbage: Please do not leave any garbage outside during the night. There are racoons around the area.
6. Using BBQ: You are most welcome to use the BBQ facility. Please clean the BBQ utensils and inside the BBQ if you have used it. Specially empty the grease trap and clean it. (fire can occur from leftover grease). Please leave the utensils inside the BBQ after cleaning them. Please make sure all gas knobs and main gas knob is closed properly after use. If you find the BBQ Gas is low, please let us know.
7. Hot Tub: Do not turn off the hot tub. Always keep it on circulation mode. After use please cover the hot tub to keep the heat. Always try to keep the water level above the filter level. (There is a hose in the crawl space connected to the water line. Gently turn on the main water valve, then pull the hose up to the hot tub, set the hose head above the water level then turn on the hose head valve, water flow will stop as soon as it gets to the hose head level). Please roll the hose and put the hose back inside the Crawl Space , then close the gate of crawl space as it was before. Also, before using the hot tub please take a light shower so that no dirts like sands or other chemical from bodies goes in the water, which can contaminate the water. If you find any malfunction on the hose, please notify us ASAP and keep the hose off.
8. Using Dock: Please do not crowd more than 5 people on the floating dock. Sometimes due to heavy rain water level is up and dock may not be stable.
9. Using Outside Furniture: All furnitures are for your convenience. If you need to move them to your convenient place, please do so but please put them back after use.
10. Inside Furnitures and and equipments: Once again, if you need to move any table chairs to your convenient place, please do so but please put them back in their original place before checking out. Please do not disconnect anything from the power bar. There are wireless phone chargers everywhere at your service. There are smart controller is connected to all lights. Please do not unplug them or the lights from them.
11. Noise Control: Please try to keep all kind of noise down from 10pm to 7am. Some of our neighbours are full time and elderly people.
12. Heating & Cooling: Split units are meant to be a back up in the Main Cottage House. Using the central air-condition or the heater is advised. Please keep the thermostat alway on auto and set the temp from 19*C-21*C during the summer and during the winter 21*C-23*C. If the central air-condition is not working for you please contact me @ 647 535 2106. Please do not keep both central air-condition, heater and split units on at the same time in the main cottage. For guest house, you are always welcome to turn on the split units as needed. Always keep the temp set to 21* and auto. Those units are really strong and will cool down really fast. (During the winter, you will find it is already warm likely 23*c+, please do not turn on the central heater or split units.)
13. Fire Pit: Please bring your own fire woods. For fire safety, we stop providing the fire wood. Also, please review and follow local municipal current fire-watch regulations @ Municipality of Highlands East. After using the Fire-Pit, please make sure the fire is completely off. Please refrain from putting to many woods at the same time. Too high flame can cause big fire in the area. Do not leave the fire un-attended overnight.
14. Floor Stand Lights: All floor Stand lights can be controlled by Alexa so please do not turn off or on manually. You can just say "Alexa turn off Living Room Light" or "Alexa turn on Living Room Light" for dining area "Alexa turn off dining are Light" or "Alexa turn on Dining Room Light". For all side table lights just need to touch the button to lit up or down.
15. Extra guests: Please declare number guests that are visiting or staying overnight during your stay while booking. Additional undeclared guest will be charged $100/night/person.
16. Space Heaters: Please do not turn off any space heater. If you find it too hot, please turn the regulator from high to a bit low but do not turn off completely. There is a builtin thermostat which will adjust the temperature as your comfort automatically. If you turn off, please turn it back on before checking out.
17. Fire Place: There are 2 fire places @ your service. Due to the fire safety, we do not provide fire woods. If you wish to use it, please bring your own fire woods (You can also buy from nearby Foodland) but please make sure you use the wood fire place safely and with caution. If you do not know how to use it, please do not try, it may cause severe damage to the property. Living room TV stand has an electric fire place, which you are always welcome to use. If you turn on the heat on it, please turn of the heat after use (keep pressing the temp button until it says 0).

13. Lock up: Close all patio doors (from both sides), windows and lock them.
14. Return keys: Before leaving please take at least 2 pictures of each room, specially check under the beds (sometimes you might forgot your valuable personal things under the bed), then text them to 647 535-2106 or email to [email protected]. After closing the front, Pull and hold the door and touch the Yale Logo, you will hear some cranking noise and a firm tone to confirm the door is locked.
